Welcome!

Here at Severe Weather Updates I strive to bring you the most current and in-depth weather updates on the web. On this page you will find access to many different tools, forecasts, and data for the study of meteorology. Whether you are a weather enthusiast or everyday normal person, I hope that this page will help keep you informed about the weather, so you can stay one step ahead of the storm.

I am a senior in high school who has been interested in meteorology from a very young age. After experiencing a tornado in 2008, I took it upon myself to learn more about this fascinating topic. Over the years I have done much research, reading, and studying in the areas of tornadoes and severe weather. I still have a lot of learning left to go, but want to use my passion for others. At Severe Weather Updates, I do my best to make only relevant and meaningful posts. You will also notice that I refuse to post "wild eyed" model runs and forecasts. In a day that is filled with "facebook meteorologists" looking for likes and reshare, I have decided to forget the hype and stick to the data.

Over the past couple years it has been a joy to enhance my knowledge in the weather. I have: attended the national AMS Broadcast Meteorology Summit, taken an online Oklahoma University tornado forecasting class, read hundreds of meteorological papers, given presentations on tornado formation, operated two professional weather stations, been a guest on The Weather Channel, completed a UCLA meteorology course, and much more.

Here are a few of my credentials:

   American Meteorological Society(AMS) member

   Citizens Weather Observation Program(CWOP) member

   Official NWS Skywarn Spotter

   NOAA Madis Contributer

   WFMY Spotter Team

I am not yet quite sure what the future holds for me. My dream is to be a private researcher that develops new tools and equipment for severe weather forecasting. I obviously plan to go to college, but am working on finding the right one, and getting enough money to pay for it (College is not cheap!). Hopefully, with enough scholarships, I will be studying away at a university next year, as I prepare for my next stage in life. Once again thanks for reading, and I look forward to posting continued wx updates as time progresses.  Hope you will share this website with your friends!
